Preparing for Camp
Camp is an exciting and fun-filled place: new friends, new adventures, new skills, stories, songs, campfires, games, and many other things. It's also a very different place - a different bed, different washroom, food, schedule, new experiences and new people.

Parents and campers are both encouraged to download a copy of the Off to Camp Booklet to prepare early for camp. Inside you will find important tips and expectations that you may not want to miss!

Please also check out our Frequently Asked Questions section for common inquiries!

Frequently Asked Questions
We realize that parents and campers have a lot of questions before leaving for camp. Here are some of the commonly asked questions that you may also be wondering about. If you cannot find your answer here, feel free to contact us!

Q: Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
A: All campers (children and adults for family camp) MUST bring their own sleeping bags. We do not provide linen and pillow. Using a sleeping bag will keep campers warm and ensure personal hygiene.

Q: Do I need to bring a sleeping mat?
A: All campers staying at the Tent Village MUST bring a basic foam sleeping mat. For added comfort, campers may choose to bring an inflatable sleeping mat. Campers staying in Mongolian yurts DO NOT need a sleeping pad as there are bed mattresses.

Q: I don't have a backpack, can I used my wheeled-luggage?
A: Please DO NOT bring wheeled-luggage. Our campsite does not have paved concrete paths and the wheels will not work on our rocky/muddy terrain.

Q: Are there mosquitoes at camp?
A: Yes, we are in nature and there will be mosquitoes and many other wonderful creatures. Please be equipped with mosquito repellent. Canned repellent is not allowed at camp. Aerosol cans become a safety hazard around children and around the campfire.

Q: Is there hot water in the showers?
A: Yes there is hot water in the showers.

Q: Do I need to bring money? Is there a tuck shop at camp?
A: We DO NOT have a tuck shop that sells drinks and snacks. However, at camp we have a drinking water fountain where campers are able to refill their own water bottles with filtered water. We also provide drinks at meals and snacks throughout the day if campers are hungry between activities.

Q: What happens when it rains?
A: All camp activities continue, rain or shine! Therefore, it is important for campers to bring proper rain gear to stay dry while being able to move around during activities.

Q: What happens when there is a typhoon or rainstorm signal?
A: Please refer to our Bad Weather Policy found on our website under the Downloads section.
