YMCA Around the World The YMCA of Hong Kong is excited to again be offering its International Camping Programmes this year. We are offering NEW Camp opportunities to join in a YMCA experience like no other. The YMCA of Hong Kong Camping Section is working together with YMCAs around the world including the YMCA of Greater Vancouver, Canada, the YMCA of Penang, Malaysia and the Lakeside YMCA National Centre, UK, to make this wonderful camp opportunity possible. In each camp session, children will be involved in excellent programmes including activities such as waterfront sports, creative arts, environmental programmes, tent camping and evening campfires. They share cabins and participate in the programmes alongside children their own age from all over the World. English is the language of instruction throughout the camp, so your children will also get lots of practice speaking English over the summer. Local Hong Kong staff will lead the campers while traveling to overseas, and share in their experiences while at camp. This programme will help build your child’s confidence, independence and knowledge of other cultures in an experience that will last a lifetime! Highlights
The Overseas Camp experience looks like this!
Each camper will have the opportunity to experience an overnight camping trip which may involve canoeing or hiking or a combination of the two. Outtrip duration range from two to three days for younger campers, while older kids will camp out up to four days. Campers and their leaders will work together to pack food and equipment, select campsites, set up tents and cook their own meals. Low impact camping is taught and safety is always a priority. |
